I have decided that I deserve to Patent this term due to saying it so much and if anyone uses it, they should have to pay me:0)
I haven't posted in a week just due to too much drama. The week started with a very big possibility of me heading down to Guatemala to attempt to finish our adoption myself. Every day that decision has changed. Sometime multiple times in one day. In the morning, we may get a call from our attorney telling us to start looking at flights, and then a few hours later they have come up with a new idea and tell us to hold off. It is pretty complicated to go in to details, but we still have not been resubmitted for Nicholas' b.c. Monday is going to be a very important day for our case. I pray that those that are holding our process up would realize what it is that they are doing. I pray that their hearts are softened and that we are able to start moving again next week.
The rest of our week........
Alex and I went to the zoo today on a field trip for her school. We had a great time. We could not have asked for better weather and we must have walked 5 miles, but it was a blast. On Tuesday, Gareth took Alex out for a special treat after soccer just the two of them. As they were waiting in line, Alex commented to Gareth, "Beer is really bad for kids." Gareth responded, "well, yes it is." A minute later, she said, "beer is really bad for kids, they shouldn't drink it." He then again responded, "well yes it is. Were you talking about that in school?" She said, "yeah, we were learning about how we shouldn't do drugs or drink beer." Great opener for a teaching moment. It was then their turn to order, and Gareth asks Alex what she wants to drink. She then proceeds to say, "not root beer, I will never drink that again." It turns out that she had been reading the menu and couldn't believe that they offered "beer" to kids. She is so cute!!!!
We had our end of the year meeting this week for Callum down at the school that he attends to do his speech classes. There were 6 of us in the meeting. We were given his test scores, which is did so well on. He is catching up rapidly. We were able to meet the wonderful teacher that will be working with him next school year when he starts at Alex's school. She was so wonderful as was the staff that have worked with him this past year. He will be going to school 5 days a week next year, but luckily only half days. (I am not ready for all day yet) He will also be continuing his speech during that time, so I will no longer have to run him 25 minutes down the road. Now, don't get me wrong, I would do it if need be, but I am a little excited that I no longer have to:0) He is talking in 4 word sentences and I very rarely have to translate for him. In the last few months we have just seen him blossom. We have also seen a pretty stubborn side evolve, but I am completely OK with that. Needless to say, after the meeting, I think that Gareth and I were both really excited at what he will be doing next year.
I hope that you all have a great weekend. Please continue to pray that we have resolution to our process. We want Nicholas home in the worst way. Hopefully Monday, we will actually have some good news for a change!!!!
