Saturday!

Well, it is the end of spring break for the kids. All in all, we had a good time. We certainly did a lot.

As for our adoption, I haven't posted much because we were waiting to get resubmitted for our birth certificate. We were resubmitted and told that they will look at our file before the second week of April. Gotta love it. i know I should be happy that we have a "date", but I can't help thinking that we will get another kick out. You know, I never used to be a negative person:0)

Happy Easter!!!

Our day started with the kids very excited!! We did a hunt for baskets! It was great to watch. Callum had no idea what he was getting excited about, he was just following along with his sister. I then made chocolate chip pancakes. YUM! The girls in the family love them. Gareth doesn't really eat breakfast, and we found out today that Callum wasn't a fan. I will continue to make them on Easter for me and Alex, I will just have to make something different for Callum next year:0) We then got ready for church and we were actually on time!!! Huge for a Sunday when we add things to do in the morning. Easter service was amazing. I love Easter. It is def. my favorite holiday.

After church we came home to call England. The kids got to talk to nanny and Grandad. During the conversation, it was mentioned that nanny and grandad would be coming soon to stay at our house. Well, for the rest of the day, Callum kept saying, "Nanny and grandad, coming on a plane to our house?" Our response was always, "yes, but not for a few more weeks!" I wish we had a tape recorder today. It was soooo cute. We spent the afternoon at my parents house. WE made lunch. Alex and Callum make the mashed potatoes. Very fun to watch. Mom and I made our own glaze for the ham and I have to admit, I am not a ham person, but it looked pretty good. After a great lunch, it was off to the easter egg hunt. That went much better than I thought. Alex was very kind and left eggs for her brother and it actually took more than 2 minutes. Gareth took the kids to the park even though it was a bit chilly. They were well and truly worn out tonight. Dad did really well today!! I cook Christmas dinner and this past year he wasn't able to stay an hour. (no, not because of my cooking, hehe) Today he was up most of the day other than about a two hour nap. We can't believe how much better he is physically. I pray that it continues. All in all, it was a great day!!! I hope that all of you have had a wonderful Easter too!!!!

Monday, Monday

We just got back from a nice long walk. Although the weather is a little chilly still, it was fun. We walked over to Alex's school and played on the playground for a while. Gareth has Mondays off so he and I spent the morning together. We finally went to the post office and mailed our nephews b.day presents from January. We just realaxed and enjoyed each other's company. All in all, today was a good day!

Everything is closed in Guatemala this week for Holy Week. We won't be resubmitted for at least another week and then our wait begins again. On one hand I won't be glued to the computer this week, on the other, another week is going by without working towards getting Nicholas home. Hopefully we will have good news at the start of next week.

Are we surprised?

Well, we got kicked out of Civil Registry. Are we surprised? I guess I am not. Supposedly there was a document that had a mis-spelled word on it. Go figure. The Guatemala government ok;d it, but the Civil Registry who has no authority didn't.

We are not sure what this means for us now other than it will prob. be another month before we hear anything again.

WE are heartbroken AGAIN!!!

No news today:0(

We got an email this morning from our lawyer saying that they were sending someone over to the Civil Registry office. We were supposed to find out if we would be getting our b.c. or getting a kick out. Now, realize that legally they not supposed to be asking us to re-so paperwork. Once you are approved by the government, you just submit your paperwork and get your new birth certificate. Of course, we are caught up in yet another mess. The turn over for this should have been less than a week. We are now going in to week 4. Anyway, it is now 10pm and we haven't heard anything. I know the saying, no news is good news, but for some reason, in this situation, I don't think that is going to be the case.
We are VERY frustrated, so I am not going to post anything else now. Please just pray for us. I don't know how much more we can handle!!!

Updates!!!

Dad came home today. He looks great! He will need to have B12 shots and his medicines have been switched around. Hopefully all of that done, he will make a GREAT recovery!!

We got an e-mail from our lawyer today. They will be going back next Wed. to the Civil Registry office where our birth certificate is coming from, to see if we will get a birth certificate or if we will be "kicked out" to have paperwork re-done. Please pray that we get a birth certificate. If we get a kick out, it will be another 30 days before we hear anything. I am kinda feeling today like we are never going to bring this little guy home!!! I know we will, but it just seems to keep dragging on and on......anyway, have a good weekend. I am looking forward to a good nights sleep for the first time in a week:0)

please continue to pray!!

Dad is still in the hospital. It seems as though he had a chemical imbalance. his body is not producing any B12. Between that, the medicine that he is on for his MD, that pushed his blood pressure right up. Really scary, but hoping that is what happened. It is so hard to know for sure. They are trying to work on his meds. now. We are praying that he gets to come home tomorrow. He is going crazy. They treat you so horribly in hospitals, and today we only got to see him for about an hour. He physically looked great today. Understandably,He is quite deflated though. He needs his bed and his family. He is not getting any rest. The food stinks and his room is right by the nurses station. They wake him every few hours. Maybe if they were nice, it would be different, but we haven't really met a nice nurse yet dealing with him. Lots will change once he comes home, but all for the good!! It will take mom, Shelly and I to really work hard and enforce it, but we will do what we have to do:0)

PLEASE PRAY FOR MY DAD!!!

We spent 12 hours at the hospital today with my dad. For those of you that don't know, he is 59 and has Muscular dystrophy. He ended up falling today. My mom and Gareth couldn't get him up so we had to call 911. Needless to say, when we got there, his blood pressure was 280/127. NOT GOOD!! It then became a battle of did he have a stroke? Where do we put him to keep him? It was a nightmare to say the least. Please pray. Seeing him the way he was today was VERY scary. He wasn't GREAT when we were made to leave tonight. He will be in for at least the week if not longer. Please pray for my mom, my sister, her family and children, Gareth and my kids. They will prob. be shuffled around a bit in the next week. Alex knows nothing of what is going on and I am not sure when or what we will tell her, I just know that we won't be telling her anything yet. Please pray for that situation. She is grandpa's girl!!!
